The Technology Strategy group coordinates the development, enhancement and growth of Innovation Platforms (combines the business needs and technical solutions) for The Timken Company. This role will support the Chief Technologist of the Power Transmission and Controls platforms, through the collection, synthesis and integration of information about potential new product and market opportunities using tools such as; stated needs (direct from current or future customer interactions), unstated needs (from the analysis of customer interactions or external market work), market trends, roadmaps, and gap analysis. Responsibilities include:


Coordinate the documentation describing a platform (text and visual)


Collect and understand market information (review standard market studies, participate in new studies)


Perform analysis of market spaces by looking into current participants (financial evaluation, strategic direction)


Participate in the technology roadmapping process (including the creation and maintenance of the graphical outputs)


Aid in technology gap analysis by comparing technical needs versus current readiness


Create and maintain documents used in the review of current and evaluation of new innovation platforms

REQUIREMENTS


Requirements:

Associates Degree in technical field or marketing with 6+ years experience, or a Bachelors Degree in technical field or marketing with 3+ years experience.

Candidate must have technical or marketing experience with good written and verbal skills (presentations / Sr. Mgmt interactions) fluent with Microsoft Office products.

Desired: Technical and marketing experience.
