TECHNICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER - Heating & Plumbing

REHAU Incorporated, a leading international polymer manufacturer, is seeking a product development/engineering manager with experience in designing and marketing of technical products, to be located in our Corporate Headquarters in Leesburg, VA.

Job responsibilities include:
-Design, development and technical support of products used in plumbing and heating markets. Products are developed according to market requirements and may include polymer, metal and composite materials. Products developed according to carefully defined timelines, tight schedules and with strong consideration for product safety and reliability.
-Management of engineering and technical staff.
-Coordination and partnership with the global REHAU technical team. This position will require cross-cultural sensitivity and a superior ability to build effective technical teams, work within a global technical organization and deliver superior engineering solutions within budget and on schedule.
-Develop and build internal technical competence and expertise within the REHAU North America organization. This will require knowledge sharing with the global organization to ensure key competencies is resident in North America.
-Willingness to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelors degree in engineering. Masters degree preferred (engineering or other).
-Experience with development of fluid and heat transfer products and services
-5 - 10 years of experience in engineering design and development. Experience managing, coaching and directing of engineering and design staff is required.
-Demonstrated success in working within a prospering business is required.
-Superior people skills and demonstrated cross-cultural experience required.
-Experience with product development with both polymer and metal materials are desired.
-Experience with budget management, forecasting and resource management is required.
-Excellent computer skills, including CAD, required. Experience with applied engineering software (heat load calc’s, hydraulic calc’s,) preferred.
-Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines and manage multiple assignments and projects.
-Ability to work effectively with coworkers in multiple departments and at all levels of management.
-Ability to travel throughout North America and occasionally to Europe and other regions.
-Willingness to spend up to 1-year in Germany working with the global technical team.
-German language fluency preferred.
