Full Job Title: Systems Engineering Function Manager Skills Management Title Systems EngineeringJob Level: MANAGEMENTBusiness Component: Integrated Defense Systems (IDS)Job Description: The system architecture Seal Beach enrolled manager will be responsible for people, processes and tool implementation on programs at the Seal Beach facility. The systems architecture function focuses on systems engineering, integration and test people processes and tools that support the development and deployment of systems where a complete integrated space, ground and user equipment solution is required by our customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following 1) indirect cost forecasting and approval (including training), 2) program evaluations as required (i.e. NARs, assessments, etc.), 3) provide process improvement recommendations back to core engineering, 4) review and provide feedback to SDC/S&IS/IDS and government process documents as required, 5) manage PDP development and execution, 6) provide process team support to HILT or other core process organization, and 7) assist with program staffing at Seal Beach including requisition development and hiring. This manager will be expected to occasionally travel to Boeing El Segundo to support meetings and other activities. In addition to the duties above, some direct program support will also be required. Competencies This enrolled manager is expected to have the following core competencies upon entering the position; 1) considered a highly skilled systems engineer (from requirements definition through integration/verification), 2) track and maintain both indirect costs and applicable schedules, 3) take an objective view of programs state (from a process implementation standpoint), identify issues, and provide corrective action suggestions, 4) read and understand processes (at all levels) and identify weaknesses, 5) work with individuals on career development by identifying training and job opportunities that will help them realize their maximum potential, 6) interface with a divers team of people, 7) be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses in people (during hiring and redeployment), 8) be a strong leader of individuals and teams, and 9) demonstrate excellent project management skills.
