Systems Engineer Senior Staff

Standard Job Description: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Typical Minimums: Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert, authority in discipline.

Specific Job Description: Responsible for technical contribution to system engineering products (architecture, requirements, interfaces, test) in the area of TSAT Operations. Will include interfacing closely with TMOS contractors, MCSW, and Operational stakeholders to help define and monitor the development TSAT operational elements. - Experience in Satellite or Network operations. - Operational experience should include: -- Theater operations experience planning and managing SATCOM assets (e.g., Milstar, DSCS, etc...) -- RSSC or similar experience -- Network Operations experience for Government or Commercial systems - Systems Engineering experience should include: -- Experience across multiple systems engineering processes to include conceptual and architecture definition, requirements development, interface definition, integration & test planning, modeling & simulation, logistics -- Experience with large, complex systems -- Understanding of software architecture is desirable Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
