Systems Engineer SAR

Purpose: Aerotek currently has a need for a Systems Engineer to work in Fairfield County.
QUALIFICATIONS: (Education, years of experience, industry preference, skills, etc.)
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related discipline with 12 years related experience.
Coursework or background in digital signal processing or spectral estimation is desired.
Computer proficiency with engineering programming languages (e.g. C, MATLAB) and Microsoft Office suite
(i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Experience with radar systems is highly desirable, especially in the area of radar mode design and development, including hardware/software requirements flow-down. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen. The individual must be experienced with UNIX based workstations, and be able to program in high level languages (e.g. C, FORTRAN, MATLAB). He/she must also be comfortable with Microsoft Windows based PCs, utilizing word processing and presentation tools.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (See reverse side for definition of essential and marginal duties.)
The candidate will be responsible for the development of radar signal processing modes and algorithms, from analytical derivation through experimental verification. This involves the mathematical definition of the signal processing, and the testing of the algorithms in a UNIX workstation environment using simulated and real radar data. The candidate will also be required to develop hardware/software requirements derived from radar mode system requirements.

Responsibilities will include a large degree of independent effort working state-of-the-art problems, and interaction with government customers. Duties will include daily documentation of work, weekly reporting on progress, and presentations before management, colleagues and customers.


ESSENTIAL:
The candidate must be self motivated, and have the ability to work independently to accomplish goals. He/she must be capable of understanding a complex problem, developing an approach to solve it, and implementing that approach. Skills required to do so include analytic problem solving, the ability to proficiently use computer tools to code algorithms and process data, and good communication skills, both written and oral.
