At this time, we are actively seeking a Hosting Systems Engineer who will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations of the production environment as well as providing second level support of the SchoolNet suite of applications. Candidates must have experience with managing Windows-based networks and Cisco networking devices in an interactive production environment. Candidates must have a full understanding of configuration, performance optimization, and maintenance of Windows, IIS, .NET Framework, and Cisco networking equipment.

The Hosting Systems Engineer is ultimately responsible for the performance and uptime of the production hosting facilities as well as the contributing to the design and planning of new hosting services. On-call and weekend work will be required, in addition to some travel. This position reports to the Director, Hosting.

Primary Responsibilities

•Administer the production data-centers for maximum efficiency, security, and uptime
•Administer the rollout process for new SchoolNet applications and client sites
•Senior level hosting support for SchoolNet applications
•Stress test SchoolNet ASP platform
•Engineer efficient hosting solutions utilizing "Best of Breed" technologies
•Contribute to technical proposals, specifications, requirements and design documents
•Document systems, configurations and develop automation.
•Monitor system health, create baselines and trend capacity requirements.
•Make high-level technical decisions in conjunction with other functional disciplines

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and background

•2-3 years of systems engineering in a production Windows environment
•1-2 years of supporting Cisco IOS, PIX OS, and Cisco Content Switches
•BA/BS degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Experience with .NET in a production environment including complementary technologies such as XML Web Services
•Strong administration experience with Windows Server 2003, MS SQL Server, and IIS
•Experience with systems management tools such as Microsoft SMS, or Microsoft Management Operations Manager
