System Engineer IV

We are supporting a growing aerospace company who is looking for a hands-on System Engineer who will be responsible for all engineering aspects from initial product research and development stages up to full-scale manufacturing production and certification. You will be establishing the system architecture for an electrically controlled hydraulic system in a structured environment (SDD, SRD, ICD, FHA, VTP, etc.). This will include the planning, modeling, simulating, specifying and integration of mechanical and hydraulic components that reside in a system comprised of microcontrollers, imbedded software, and sensors. Certification of essential and critical level control systems for aircraft – retrofit application experience a plus (Cert Plan, STC, etc.). Familiarity with Aircraft FMS and ACARS functionality and interfacing a plus. Familiarity with ARINC-429, RS-232, RS-485 and MIL-1553 data buses a plus.Familiarity with aircraft electrical and mechanical wiring/routing/piping interface standards desired. Strong analytical and math skills desired.


Requirements:

To be considered for this opportunity you must have at least a BSME or equivalent degree is required with 10+ years experience as a Lead System Engineer of mech/hydraulic control applications – preferably in an aerospace environment (FAA DER highly desirable). Must be comfortable in R&D as well as structured product development environments. Experience with aircraft FMS and ACARS functionality and interfacing a plus. Experience with certification of essential and critical level avionics in aircraft retrofit market Familiarity with ARINC-429, RS-232, RS-485 and MIL-1553 data buses a plus. Familiarity or previous experience with mechanical/hydraulic testing a plus. Familiarity with microcontrollers, A/D conversion techniques, sensors, system simulators, and aircraft wiring/routing interface standards a plus.
