Supervisor, Outgoing Quality Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is a key component in Zebra’s quality assurance function. This position is responsible for overseeing the department’s contribution to outgoing product quality and maintaining customer satisfaction. This position will be responsible for executing process audits, problem identification, adherence to ISO standards for quality and production processes, and related.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Accountable for ensuring the Zebra’s commitment to workmanship and product quality is achieved consistently and in accordance with corporate guidelines to that end
2.Mentors and develops assigned staff to ensure that corporate objectives for succession planning and workforce development is met
3.Implements ISO processes and acts as a change agent to train and develop assigned staff to ensure compliance with new/revised standards
4.Responsible for supervising the performance of the quality inspection team for DFT lines assigned
5.Will periodically review team performance and make decisions/recommendations specific to pay, promotion, hiring/termination for personnel assigned
6.Conduct quality engineering functions specific to process audits, problem identification, verification of corrective actions, and planning reviews.
7.Participate in manufacturing quality circles in support of continuous improvement processes
8.Interface with electrical, mechanical design, and other engineering partners to conduct root cause analysis and work with Supplier Quality Engineers to sustain and improve supplier quality
9.Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
BSEE/ME or equivalent combination of academic and professional experience
Minimum of 10 years experience in (high volume) electro-mechanical manufacturing/consumer electronics
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
Strong knowledge and experience working on KANBAN, POKA-YOKE, and DFT (Demand Flow Technology) manufacturing processes
Experienced working in electro-static discharge environment
Experience working within ISO 9000 processes
Background working with Continuous Improvement Process and Quality Circles
Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional work groups as part of a team and in a leadership capacity
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Visio and related office and engineering software packages)
