Substation - Construction or Design

Purpose: National Energy Engineering Firm is seeking an experienced Substation Designer.

Requirements:

Must have Design experience in power distribution systems in medium to high voltage 480V, 3 phase, 60Hz systems. Position responsibilities may also include designing or drafting High Voltage Substations and Switchyards up to 230kV, or 500kV.

Also experienced in power plans/equipment layout (conduit/wiring runs), UPS, building grounding systems, emergency generator.

Perform electrical calculations including load analysis, voltage drops, power factor corrections, and time current coordination. Prepare specifications for electrical equipment (panelboards,transformers, VFD's, MCC's, etc). Should also have experience in telephone and data installation, security systems, and fire control systems.

Must be able to prepare elementary diagrams for motor controls, perform field survey and review and approve shop drawings.


Required attributes/experience-
* 3+ years solid experience designing HV electric utility substations
* Experience performing material take-offs, layout of substations, control schematics, wiring diagrams, grounding, and other substation design-related activities.

* 5-7+ years solid experience designing HV electric utility substations
