Submarine Safety Engineer (4481)

Directly support the Navys SUBSAFE and DSS Quality Assurance Program Office, NAVSEA 07Q. Perform technical reviews, produce audit guides and historical analysis, support offsite audits, and produce audit reports. Trend data relative to the various activities audited and assist in determining areas for improvement. Offsite audit support will consist of 5-6 days of travel at a time; approximately 25% per year. Support will include development of pre-audit briefs and materials, onsite support including delivery of materials, coordination of audit cards, and development of the report for initial publication. Post audit activities include preparing and attending the audit debrief, distributing the final report, and following up the corrective actions until the audit cards are closed.Desired Skills: Experience with the SUBSAFE and/or DSS Programs and US Navy quality programs including significant onsite audit support experience. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and re-port writing skills required. Knowledge of submarine maintenance and repair practices, procedures and requirements is desired. Experience with audit program development and coordination, technical document reviews, problem investigation, and quality control procedures preferred. Proficiency with PowerPoint, MS Access, and MS Excel.Requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent and 4-6 years of related experience. US Citizenship is required. A Secret level clearance must be obtained for this position.May be required to lift boxes of up to 50 pounds.
