Structural Engineer - S-64

Position Responsibilities:

Structural engineer for MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility. Responsible for performing engineering, design, and analysis of Category I steel structures and concrete anchorage of equipment, structures and components. Perform engineering analyses and designs with general management and supervisory direction. Develop and check analyses, drawings and specifications, technical reports, and documentation of results. Understand and apply QA procedures relating to project planning, analyses, specifications and software. Immediate tasks will be design of embedments for concrete anchorage of equipment, structures, and components per requirements of ACI-349-01 Appendix B. Other tasks include the design of steel structures and components, cranes & monorails, and support of construction and procurement activities. Shaw and Areva/Framatome-ANP are suggested as the source for this position. Contracted employees will be considered as an alternate. Position is replacement for Kashir Hyder (S57-2), who is leaving the project.



Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated skills and abilities required for experience level. Good planning, communication and organization skills. Understanding of regulatory requirements for engineering, analysis and design of safety-related structures, especially concrete anchorage of embedments. Excellent familiarity with ACI, AISC, ASCE 4 & 7 building design codes and standards. Excellence in design of concrete embedments is essential. Working knowledge of and understanding of interfaces with other engineering disciplines required. Desire minimum of 5-years experience after award of Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline. Lesser experience levels will be considered depending on experience and salary requirements.



Desired Qualifications:

Experience with ANSYS and/or GTSTRUDL and comparable finite element analysis programs.

Engineer with experience in detailed analysis of concrete embedments applying ACI-349-01, Appendix B or ACI-318-02, Appendix D.

Engineer with experience in structural steel design per AISC N690 & ASD 9th edition.

Special consideration given to Engineers living in the CSRA area. Please only personnel willing to relocate to Aiken, SC in mid-2006 should apply.
