Demonstrates competence in all conventional aspects of structural engineering, with particular experience related to the design of commercial and industrial facilities. Under minimal-to-general supervision, independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques and procedures for steel, concrete, and masonry structures. Demonstrates ability to work as a team or independently. May conduct site investigations and inspections, and make recommendations for design systems. May serve as a team leader for small projects, help train entry-level employees, and supervise technicians on a project by project basis. May assist more senior engineers on large, complex projects. Expected to work on proposals and contribute to client relationships and business development efforts. Demonstrates good listening and problem solving skills. Competent in related disciplines or technical specialties. Must possess effective oral and written communication skills, be a team player, and have attention to detail.

Professional registration (PE) preferred. Typical engineering experience range from 5 to 9 years. Ideal candidate will be familiar with a variety of structural designs, including hydraulic concrete basins, and industrial and commercial building design. Applicant should be proficient in the provisions of the International Building Code and have experience in concrete, masonry, and steel design including commercially available structural design and analysis software.
