The Staff Engineer/Manager will be responsible for design and hands-on implementation of complex server-side systems; Creation of detailed design documents; Analysis and prioritization of new technology and refactoring opportunities. In addition, the Staff Engineer/Manager will be responsible for directing and mentoring a small team of developers.

Knowledge/Skills (Must Have):
Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) and at least 10 years experience with 5+ years of web development/web architecture
Experience with high volume, transactional websites
Expert understanding of Java, multi-threading , object-oriented design and design patterns
Strong understanding of J2EE in particular JDBC, JSP, servlets, EJB
Strong understanding of SQL, database design, transaction management
Good understanding of XML, HTML, JavaScript
Windows, Unix
Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of 2-5 engineers
Strong troubleshooter
Independent worker, organized, strong communicator with proven initiative to succeed in a fast-paced environment
Quick learner
Knowledge/Skills (Nice to Have in addition to the above):
WebSphere, DB2, Oracle
Banking industry
Performance tuning
Presentation frameworks (Struts etc.)
