Staff Geologist or Hydrogeologist
CH2M HILL's Tulsa, OK office is looking for a talented Geologist or Hydrogeologist to join their team.
This is a junior-level position that will be responsible for completing tasks associated with site management projects. These tasks will include a mixture of field work and office responsibilities. Typical field work tasks include, but are not limited to: compliance with work plans and health and safety plans, installation of monitoring wells, sampling various media (groundwater, soil, surface water, etc), logging soil and rock borings, aquifer pumping tests, completing field paperwork and documenting activities on site, and directing subcontractors (drillers, sub-consultants, etc.). Typical office tasks include, but are not limited to: data analysis, interpretation, and manipulation, preparation of boring logs and cross-sections, development of drawings/figures and maps depicting relevant hydrogeologic and analytical data, preliminary cost estimates, sampling plans, and safety plans, report writing, and coordination of logistics for field efforts. Writing effective summaries of field work activities and laboratory results, working with analytical equations to support hydrogeologic assessments (aquifer test analysis, computer modeling, fate and transport analysis), assisting with procurement of subcontractors, and contributing to technical reports and technical presentations, is required. Overnight travel is expected and may initially average 50% to 60%. Opportunities for decreased travel over time are expected.
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree (MS preferred) in Hydrogeology or Geology and 1-3 years of consulting experience. Exceptional MS experience may be considered in lieu of work experience. Engineering-geology educational or work background is a plus. Qualified candidates should have the ability to log soil and rock samples, oversee the installation of borings/monitoring wells, and conduct environmental sampling. Strong writing skills, oral communication skills and effective listening skills are required. Candidates should possess the attributes to become a strong consultant (team player, commitment to safety, eagerness to learn and grow, self starter that takes initiative and has a service mentality).

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Hydrogeology or Geology from a US accredited college or university.
Minimum one (1) year of consulting experience or applicable MS experience.
Experience should include, but is not limited to logging soil and rock samples, overseeing the installation of borings/monitoring wells and conducting environmental sampling.
Experience should also included, but is not limited to writing summaries of field work activities and laboratory results, working with analytical equations to support hydrogeologic assessments (aquifer test analysis, computer modeling, fate and transport analysis), assisting with procurement of subcontractors, and contributing to technical reports and technical presentations.
If not a US citizen, applicant must have a non-academic visa which will permit him or her to work for any employer
