Staff Engineer - Freeport, TX

Nalco has an opening for a Staff Engineer in the Engineering Group located at the batch processing plant in Freeport, TX. The Staff Engineer will primarily be responsible for providing engineering support for daily operations and maintenance of production units in the Sugar Land facility as well as other satellite facilities across the U.S. Other responsibilities of this position include the following:

Identify and resolve process, production, quality, mechanical, and technical problems.

Develop new product manufacturing procedures.

Propose and implement improvements to existing products, processes, and procedures.

Assist in the capital project proposals and justifications.

Provide process design and start-up support for capital projects.

Support the quality improvement program by providing technical assistance to Research & Development, Quality Assurance and Production.

REQUIREMENTS


The successful candidate will have the following:B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering may also be considered. One to four years experience in organic or specialty chemicals is desired. Prior experience with batch production method is preferred. Excellent communication skills Willingness and ability to travel 10% of the time.
