Sr. Wireless Traffic Engineer - Performance

Senior Traffic Engineer – Performance: will plan, size and dimension network elements to provide the needed capacity and functionality to keep the network ahead of the growth plans. Coordinates with corporate engineering, equipment vendors, and tech staff in order to develop plans and matrices for network growth, efficiency and quality. Responsible for improving hourly system performance and optimizing the network for Southern California.

Qualified candidates must have good verbal & written communication skills. Have knowledge and experience with Wireless PCS and/or Cellular networks, posses good Interpersonal Skills and Teamwork building skills, excellent Problem Solving/Decision Making skills, and be able to work with minimal supervision and provide timely and accurate work output. Project management, excellent communications, organizational & interpersonal skills and be Self Motivated.
REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities:

•Switch Dimensioning
•SS7 Network Architecture
•Interact with vendor to establish critical engineering points and engineering overheads.
•Generate sizing for core network elements
•Forecast port requirements
•Forecast / design growth planning/ sizing via traffic engineering
•Generate detailed network architecture
•Switch integration
•Interoperability testing and coordination
•Performance Analysis
•Support Network engineering for facility requirements.
•Develop tools to gather statistics from all Network Elements, process and deliver results to Local Team.
•Monitor all network elements to determine health of overall systems
•Understand call processing in Lucent CDMA network
•Understanding of CDMA, 3G-1X Data Operations
•Assist RF, Switch and Field ops as needed

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or directly related equivalent experience; plus 5-7 years Lucent Wireless CDMA switching experience.

Experience includes:
•Knowledge of Tellabs 5500 DACS, digital networks,
•MS Office suite
•Comprehensive knowledge of equipment & translations for Lucent 5ESS
