Sr Systems Engineer II

Job Description:Performs operational analysis of large computer systems and detailed system analysis of complex data processing sub-systems.Performing fault isolation and investigation, to distinguish fault sources between hardware and software systems; recommending and initiating corrective actions for faults.Monitor system performance; characterize system performance; plans and coordinates software delivery, conducts integration and test of updated DPS SW/Database builds and supports installation.Monitor processing system health and status; communicate and document processing system faults and initiate the monitoring of maintenance activities; analyze system metrics and prepare system performance problem reports.Additional responsibilities may include correction and update of documents, contribute to, or make, presentations, attend meetings and reviews, analysis of customer requests to determine needs and recommend appropriate configuration, equipment and software changes to satisfy requests, and training of new Software Engineers.US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIREDCURRENT AND ACTIVE TS/SCI with CI Poly Clearance RequiredBasic Qualifications:A minimum of 6+ years of directly applicable work experienceExperience in space and airborne sensor systems.Six or more years of experience operating large computer systems.Planning and coordinating software delivery, conducting integration and test of updated data processing SW/Database builds and support of installation.Experience performing system analysis of complex data processing systems and proven performance analysis skills, fault isolation investigation skills, skills in characterizing, monitoring and tuning data processing systems.Executing task based work assignments with standard software development tools and tracking tools like DOORS, following common Raytheon processes.Support software and/or hardware test and integration evaluating test plans for laboratory, field, and environmental testing, and analyzing the resulting data.Understand requirements analysis/definition to ensure system will meet all customer requirements; ensuring full requirements traceability.Professional and positive attitude; willingness to learn and be innovative.Self-starter with initiative and independent judgment for assisting team members.

Desired Skills:Demonstrated skills in interpreting complete sensor systems artifacts, system calibration; effective interpersonal skills in "high demand" settings.Working knowledge of all or some of the following: Sun Microsystems computers and products, HP Open View Vantage Point Operations, Veritas ClusterServer (VCS), UNIX, and Oracle databases, MATLAB, C++, or requirements management tools and processes.
