Sr. Software QA Engineer
TITLE: Sr. Software QA Engineer - Unix, C++, Whitebox JOB #: 06082901 - P DESCRIPTION: Exciting company, poised to take their core analytics product to the next level, is adding a key Sr. Software QA Engineer to the team. Unique algorithms have been patented to speed “google-like” database searches that have attracted the attention of top venture funds. Companies can now afford to seamlessly “mine” their data warehouses (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2), without major changes or disruption to their business process.
This new role as a Sr. QA Software Engineer will involve:
Testing core functionalities through performance and regression testing in a Unix / Linux / Windows environment.
Your challenge will be to design automated tools (test harnesses) for a complex product that involves high speed, database performance.
You will do both blackbox and whitebox testing of C++ code for data input & extraction for large corporate data warehouses (Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2).
Company is led by a CEO who has successfully taken 2 companies public.

QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years of software quality assurance for a products in a multi-platform environment (Unix, Linux, and Windows).
Experience with functional, performance, and regression testing for accuracy of database input and extraction from any of these databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgresSQL, or DB2)
Plus would be whitebox testing and ability to read C++ code to identify the source of a problem.
Experience writing scripts (Python, Perl, TCL / Expect, or SHELL) for automated testing.
Strong SQL programming skills to write queries, do query optimization, examine schema design, stored procedures. Familiarity with procedural languages like PL/SQL would be helpful when testing Oracle database performance.
Experience with data warehousing or data analytics would be very helpful in understanding my client’s domain space.
Experience with QA / test methodologies and test-case creation methods (equivalence partitioning/boundary-value analysis, etc.).
Experience with common source control tools (CVS, Perforce, Subversion, and bug tracking software like Bugzila).
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
Interest in working with a high-performance team and cutting edge technology.
