Sr. Software Engineer - Service Level Architecture (SOA)

Sr. Software Engineer/Programmer with a minimum of 8 years Web-based programming, systems engineering and/or database management experience to work in DoD/US Navy/Marine Corp systems rapid-prototyping environment. This position shall design database models and software systems, and develop program specifications. Knowledge of programming using web services in a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) is required. Individual must be comfortable to lead/perform job functions and complete projects with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and shifting priorities. This position will entail preparation of technical documentation, including requirements, schemas, data dictionaries and other related materials as assigned. This position also includes preparation and delivery of customer training, and providing application, functional and technical support in conjunction with helpdesk staff to system users as required.

Education:
A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills:
At least 8 years relevant experience (4 - additional years relevant experience may substitute for degree). Minimum 2 – 4 years experience using XML, SOAP, XSL, XSD, and DTD is required. Minimum 1 – 2 years using BEA WebLogic is required. Proven ability with demonstrated proficiency and experience with database applications design in Oracle 9i is required. Database development and logical/physical data modeling, admin and management experience, such as Oracle Designer/2000 and competence in the use of database design tools such as CA ER/Win is required. Experience with web services using BEA products in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment. XML, SOAP, XSL, XSD, and DTD. Good team player with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to produce Systems Engineering technical documents. Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.


Desired Skills:
Individual holding current clearance for Secret level or Top Secret level is highly desired. Experience with other BEA products such as AquaLogic is highly desired. Experience with web services in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment, requirements analysis, and implementation of DoD Net-Centric data strategy. Hands on experience in Web development, such as ColdFusion/MX/Flash, ASP, Java, Javascript, HTML, XML, Adobe Photoshop, XMLSpy (or similar tool) is highly desired. Experience with Popkins System Architecture tool, DoD Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA) 3.1, DoD Software Asset Management (SAM), and DoD PKI.
