SECURITY CLEARANCE/LEVEL REQUIRED: SecretPRIMARY FUNCTION(S)
Provides IT system support for Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NAVEODTECHDIV) Indian Head, Maryland and as deployed support to the Command’s IED countermeasures lab in Camp Victory, Iraq.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications.
Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems.
Participates in the software testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
Familiar with the fully range of programming concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of complex programming tasks.
Reports directly to a team lead, or may lead and direct the work of others at times.
A wide degree of creativity is expected.
Must be a self starter and be able to work independently.
Participates in conferences, VTCs and meetings, including presenting briefing to high ranking visitors and staff.
Coordinates work with a number of organizations engaged in operations in Iraq
Must be able to communicate problems, ideas and solutions effectively to staff in Indian Head, MD while deployed in Iraq.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a bachelor\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s degree in Management, Information Systems or other relevant field. An appropriate technical credential may substitute for the degree.
7-10 years of experience performing programming assignments of increasing complexity.
Experience with change management as applied to IT programs.
Experience in developing and managing and integrating software programs involving both COTS and developmental applications.
Ability to train site personnel in the proper use of IT hardware and software, provide computer support in a networked environment, have understanding of basic computer network concepts, and excellent customer service skills.
Eligible for a secret security clearance, preferably with a current secret clearance and appropriate background investigation on file with the Defense Security Service.
The incumbent must be prepared for deployment to Iraq for periods of 6-12 months.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point software programsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
