Sr Software Engineer - Government Systems - Integrated Systems

This Senior Software Engineer will work in the Government Systems Information Assurance department to perform software engineering tasks in the area of information security for integrated systems and platforms. As a member of the Integrated Systems and Platform Security team, this engineer will work with System Security Engineers to analyze system requirements, define software requirements and interface requirements, and develop software architectures for cross-domain subsystems. This engineer will also work with other software engineers to design and implement software components using a structured design approach that meets the requirements for Common Criteria certification. In addition, this engineer will be expected to perform software component verification, and software integration and testing. This engineer will also be responsible for writing and reviewing various forms of documentation, including software requirements specifications, interface requirements specifications, software design documents, and software verification plans.


The ideal candidate will have the following demonstrated skills:


1) Experience with embedded software design and implementation using the C and/or Ada programming languages;

2) Experience with all areas of software engineering, including requirements, design, implementation, verification, integration, and test;

4) Experience with configuration management, defect tracking, and requirements capture tools such as Clearcase, Clearquest, and DOORS;

5) Knowledge in areas of information security, especially Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) and Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS);

6) Experience with the Common Criteria (CC) certification and evaluation process;

7) Experience with developing software for a MILS Real-Time Operating System (RTOS);


In addition, the candidate must have excellent written and verbal communications skills. The candidate must also be highly motivated and a self-starter.

U.S. Citizenship required. The candidate must hold or be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance (at a minimum)
REQUIREMENTS
This job requires an undergraduate degree in applicable engineering or science field or equivalent with demonstrated high academic and/or job performance and a minimum of 4 years (normally 5-8 years) of specifically related experience or graduate degree in applicable engineering or science field or equivalent with demonstrated high academic and/or job performance and a minimum of 2 years (normally 3-6 years) of specifically related experience.
