Sr. Software Engineer

JOB DUTIES:
Work with marketing and other departments to develop system and software requirements for projects. Document these requirements appropriately.
Develop and document system and subsystem software architectures.
Analyze system performance parameters and provide estimates of code size, RAM requirements, speed requirements, and other system parameters.
Write software for use in generator control systems, windows environments, etc.
Develop software verification test plans.
Release software to the factory.
Identify, track, and correct software defects.
Help determine and manage proper software control and configuration management parameters.
Use tools such as emulators, debuggers, oscilloscopes to debug and verify proper operation of system software.
Work in a team environment to develop software requirements, architecture, and structure.
Work on special projects as dictated by the needs of the department.
Estimate software tasks for scheduling purposes.
Provide leadership, direction and mentoring for less experienced members of the software staff.
REQUIREMENTS
M.S./B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Knowledge of one or more of the following C, C++, Assembly Language
Computer Literacy. MS Office experience preferred.
Good organizational capability. High attention to detail.
Ability to work on and complete multiple tasks in a timely fashion.
Experience:
Understanding of good software design and documentation practices.
Experience in generating formal system requirements and specifications a plus.
Experience with Excel, Word necessary. Experience with Access or other technical software a plus.
