Sr Software Engineer

In addition, we develop optimized Consumer Electronics devices and Digital Home PCs, including content and service bundles to enhance the end-user experience. Digital Home Content Services Group mission is to accelerate the availability of content services on Intel platforms (PC, notebook, Speech Transaction Board, Digital TV, cell phone and handheld) with the goal to make content a strategic advantage for Intel platforms. In this position, you will be part of Consumer Electronics Software team. CE Software develops software and firmware for media products silicon and reference platforms like digital television and advanced set-top box silicon. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Designing and developing low level media device (audio and/or video) control software
- Working with stakeholders to drive and define the media device Application Program Interface (API)
- Integrating and testing software on Field Programmable Gate-Array (FPGA) or development board
- Identifying hardware issues and working with the silicon engineer to propose a solution
- Advising hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input and/or output requirements
- Implementing developer level unit, feature and/or system tests
- Writing documentation for the device units owned



job Requirements


You must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with more than five years of experience or Master of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with more than three years of experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Experience in Linux* and/or WinCE* operating systems and development tools
- Strong C/C++ programming skills
- Familiarity with Intel XScale® and Intel® Architecture processor architectures
- Low-level Software developer familiar with programming at a peripheral and/or device driver level
- Must work within a team environment with good communication (verbal and written) skills
- Demonstrate personal initiative and problem solving skills
- Familiar with media processing subsystems MPEG, H.264 or Audio encode and/or decode would be an added advantage
- Ability to travel
