We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Quality Engineer for our Quality Engineering group to work specifically on our Market Connectivity Products. Our Market Connectivity Product teams (FIX Server Products, FIX Client Products and Financial Gateways) develop products to connect to the major Financial Exchanges such as: CBOT, CME, Eurex, Eurex US, Euronext.LIFFE, Frankfurt Stock Exchange (Xetra), ICE® Futures, BrokerTec and various FIX based exchanges including SFE, Hotspot, Montreal and CFE.
Senior Software Quality Engineer
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Evaluates and tests new or modified software products and documentation prior to release.
•Executes manual and automated test cases according to documented test plans.
•Designs and develops test plans and test cases based on software requirements and technical understanding of product architecture.
•Documents bugs in defect tracking system.
•Assists in reproducing, investigating and debugging software issues in coordination with Support and Development.
•Communicates status on ongoing testing efforts.
•Develops utility programs to test, track and verify defects in software programs.
•Recommends product improvements or corrections.
•Assists in the evaluation of quality. Performs risk assessment on development and enhancement projects.
•Writes test plans identifying the project's testing activities and approach.
•Ensures required equipment and resources are available for successful implementation of test plan.
•Assists with both formal and informal system reviews at pre-established points throughout the development life cycle.
•Documents the project test summary report.
•Works at an expert level on multiple projects simultaneously.
•Understands the TT product development lifecycle.
•Has a deep understanding of quality engineer responsibilities and processes in the TT product development lifecycle.
•Monitors and enforces policy, procedures, standards within the SQE function group.
•Writes, revises and verifies quality standards and tests procedures for program design and product evaluation to attain quality of software economically and efficiently.
•Leads discussions and initiatives in process improvement for the group.
•Mentors and trains other software quality engineers.
•Develops procedures used to verify the program functions according to actual requirements and established guidelines
•Participate in code reviews
•Ability to effectively manage time and work on multiple projects simultaneously
REQUIREMENTS
•5+ years of Software Quality Engineering experience
•Bachelor degree in CS or related field, or equivalent work experience.
•Experience with automated testing tools, preferably with Mercury’s product line (Winrunner) or Silktest.
•Knowledge of testing methodologies and software development life cycle.
•Experience with requirements review, manual test verification, and results/metrics reporting.
•Communication skills are a priority – both verbal and written.
•Ability to prioritize, organize and accomplish multiple tasks, both as part of a team and independently.
•Knowledge of the futures/options trading environment a huge plus
•Experience with FIX protocol preferred.
•Work experience with MS Excel, Perl, or other scripting language
