Sr. Process Development Engineer

Job Function: Engineering Business Unit: Aerospace Automotive and Commercial Transportation - Alcoa Wheel & Forged ProductsJob Status: Full-TimeRelocation Eligible: NoPosition Description: Under the direction of the Engineering Manager - Finishing, Commercial Vehicle Wheels, this position is accountable for:
Developing technical engineering solutions to improve current manufacturing processes and developing new processes and product enhancements for Alcoa Commercial Vehicle Wheels.

Providing leadership to drive continuous process improvements through the application of Six Sigma tools and ABS tools.

Providing project management to implement new processes within Alcoa Commercial Vehicles and with outside sources.Job Requirements
Minimum Education Required: BachelorsMinimum Years of Experience: 3Minimum Travel Required: 0-25%Basic Qualifications: Due to the highly technical nature of this position, a Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other suitable technical education coupled with a minimum of 3 years experience is preferred. An emphasis in the areas of automation, controls, signal processing, mathematical modeling, and statistics is required in addition to a strong technical background in mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines. Incumbent must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, managerial skills and the ability to work independently. In order for this position to be successful, the incumbent must also possess a high degree of people skills as he/she must motivate and influence others.Preferred Qualifications: In addition to knowledge of conventional aluminum processing, incumbent must have a thorough understanding of the Alcoa Business System and methods for assessing process capability and driving continuous improvements. The incumbent should also have a thorough knowledge of the forging process and standard practices that would normally be acquired through extensive experience in various technical assignments. The incumbent must also have demonstrated the ability to deal effectively with people under varying circumstances.
