RESPONSIBILITIES:
Senior level 2 network support position. Perform advanced technical troubleshooting in an IP Network.
Strong TCP/IP background supporting IP and Host OSA connectivity.
Provide analysis and support, acting as an internal escalation for staff supporting vendors and other support groups to ensure proper resolution of problems.
Primary support on Commercial and Corporate Network Deployments.
Train staff on new technology enhancements to existing products while keeping up with industry changes.
Attend technical meetings for projects and service enhancements.
Coordinate with group members ensuring all documentation and procedures are kept current and accurate.
Position requires working weekends and holidays as necessary.
Secondary job responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve or escalate internetworking problems in a timely manner, ensuring service levels are met. Perform proactive analysis and provide information regarding actual or potential problems. Provide timely and accurate status of all activities to appropriate team members and management as required. Maintain a working knowledge of standard Visa/Inovant configurations and support regional offices including VISA centers, OCE, OCC, OCW, as needed to resolve problems. Complete projects within milestones while working closely with other engineering groups. Manage multiple IP networks in an efficient and professional manner. Supports call volumes within the group.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the capability of resolving complex technical problems and implementing resolutions based on standard practices, policies, procedures, and specifications.
5-7 years experience in a large complex WAN/LAN internetworking environment.
Advanced configuration management knowledge of CISCO routers and switches, Firewalls, and Network management tools; Netview, Ciscoworks, Visual Uptime, Sniffer, and Nethealth. Thorough understanding of associated internetworking protocols/topologies, TCP/IP, IPX, Ethernet, ATM, etc.
Routing protocols EIGRP, RIP, SRB, BGP, OSPF, DLSW, etc.
CCIE certification desired.
