Sr. Manufacturing/Process Engineer

Summary:

Manufacturer of connectors and backpanel assemblies for avionics, military and other markets is seeking motivated and results-oriented individual to deliver high quality products to customers on time with profitability. Focus is to develop and implement modern fabrication and assembly techniques for electronic assemblies including wave soldering, surface mount, reflowing and hand soldering and mechanical assembly. Participate in surface mount footprint generation, component layout, producibility analysis and design reviews.



Duties:

Interface with customers, sales, and design as required to define, develop and quite new products, tooling, test requirements and inspection parameters.

Defines and develops new processes, tooling, and equipment needed for product run in the wave solder machine, surface mount machine, solder pot, hand soldering, Ion O graph, parts washer, and re-flow machine in order to support development activities.

Identify, document and implement improvements to the process used in manufacturing. Apply resident expertise on projects while collaborating with other engineers. Improve tools and fixtures for quality and cost improvements.

Conducts/participates in pre-production or pre-release reviews on all new jobs.

Leads initiatives to implement lean enterprise philosophies.

Supports meeting all ISO 9001-2000 and AS9100 requirements and instructions.
REQUIREMENTS
BSEE or BS in related field

5-8 years related engineering experience with electronic/surface mount assembly

Experience with setting up screen printer machines, design of solder stencils

Certified to solder meeting J standard 001

Training in lean manufacturing principles and implementation
CAD, Project Scheduler, Excel, and Word

Must be proficient in reading blueprints, routers, interpreting military standards and commercial specifications.
