Sr. Manufacturing Engineer , Leader Aerospace Manufacturing
The Manufacturing Engineering Leader / will provide the overall leadership and direction for the manufacturing engineering discipline. In this regard, major emphasis will be placed upon ensuring the products produced are consistent with customer requirements, contain the highest possible quality and are produced at the lowest possible cost.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for leading, improving, and reviewing the processes within the manufacturing operation to attain cost targets, quality levels, responsiveness.
Responsible for planning, coordination, and directing the manufacturing engineering activities (two sites).
Works closely with the Manufacturing/Design engineering teams to initiate and / or implement cost reductions, quality improvements, and operational changes for new and existing products.
Maintain a high level of technical knowledge in advanced manufacturing technology in the areas of plant productivity and product manufacturability.
Evaluates operating processes policies and systems and identifies and implements improvements to reduce operating costs, improve quality, increase productivity, and improve profitability.
DESIRED QUALITIES:
·Worked in low – volume, high product mix manufacturing environments for mechanical systems. Multi-axis CNC machining, punch press, EDM, paint, plating, and assembly production processes experience is required. Extensive knowledge of milling, turning, metal forming, metal processing and assembly process.
·Strong technical knowledge is essential from New Product Design to Full Production Launch working in a team environment; improving manufacturability and ensuring design to cost targets are met consistently.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
·4-year undergraduate degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering required. Graduate studies to include Masters in Engineering or MBA in business or operations highly desirable.
·Training to include Lean Systems, Kaizen Events, DFMEA, CNC programming, CAD Software (Espirit, Edgecam, Surfcam, other), and Supervisory or Management training are all desirable.
