Sr Human Factors Engineer - Air Force KC-135 Systems

As a member of the system engineering development team, the prospective candidate will accept design input from multiple stakeholders to define the human interface for future products. Applicable systems range from human worn systems, avionics, vetronics as well as radio products. Requires direct interface with customers through crew system working groups as well as documentation of user interface requirements. Interface with design engineers to establish system design, MANPRINT and training requirements and to ensure optimized human interfaces. Perform as the Human Factors Engineering subject matter expert in support of various cross functional program IPT's. Conduct user centered research using a range of methods including field visits/observation, interviews, and usability testing. Expertise in the following HFE domains is expected: ergonomics, usability assessments for products, anthropometric, biomechanics as well the ability to support system safety hazard analyses of products and systems. Prepare and present technical reports on research at customer design reviews and professional technical symposiums. Be familiar with modeling tools, such as VAPS. Develop and implement research methodologies and analysis plans to test and evaluate developmental prototypes. DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate must possess a B.S. in Human Factors Engineering, Experimental Psychology, or related discipline as well as several years of Human Factors experience. Experience in the military is beneficial.
Professional knowledge of the related scientific fields of physiology, anatomy, anthropometry and biomechanics. Experience with the design and development of military aviation and is desired.Knowledge of following is desired:o Human Factors MIL-HDBK-46855

REQUIREMENTS


Bachelor's Degree in Human Factors engineering or Experimental Psychology science field or six years related exempt experience plus six years related exempt experience.
