Sr Engineering Manager (Integrated Processing System Software 2)

This position provides leadership for the Commercial Systems Integrted Processing System Software 2 group. Engineering personnel in this group are responsible for all aspects of the software engineering process. The leader in this position will be accountable for the software development performance (scope, schedule, and budget) for the Input/Output Concentration software, Common I/O software, and IPS Configuration Tools software for the Pro Line 4, Pro Line 21, and Integrated Processing Systems.



In addition to project accountabilities, engineering management responsibilities include planning, organizing, resource allocation, and overall group management of the IPS Software 2 group. Position requires applicant to have a thorough understanding of, and demonstrated experience in, requirements analysis and capture, software design of real time systems, software integration, and test, as well as engineering documentation.



Principal accountabilities include:

Leader responsibility for a group of engineers

Ensure compliance to Rockwell Collins Technical Consistent Process (TCP)

Ensure compliance to Rockwell Collins Decision Point Process

Ensures compliance with Program/Product requirements as reflected in Design Plans

Provides management direction and is responsible (directly or through Project Engineers) for project planning and control

Participates in the budgetary planning process through identification of: staffing, facilities, capital, and support needs

Provides skilled resources

Responsible for management and performance of engineering resources to meet required deliverables

Leads wide range of entry-level to highly experienced engineers

Demonstrates technical expertise in a product, technology, or other domain

Provides operational support for complex technical subjects

Supports/implements projects/initiatives

Responsible for improving the organization's technical competence and advancing state-of-the-art developments

Maintains awareness of technology and Company's competitive position

Manages department costs to stay within approved levels (staffing, material, and operating budget)

Strives for 100% customer satisfaction

Creates an environment where no one tolerates complacency





Prior engineering management or project leadership, knowledge of avionic information systems, and Master of Engineering or MBA are desirable. REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of specifically related experience including supervisory, management or project management.
