Senior Engineering Manager - Avionic Systems Engineering



Responsible for systems engineers engaged in project definition, coordination of requirements capture and allocation, design, development, integration, implementation, installation, flight test and certification of program applications and/or systems of a highly advanced and sophisticated nature. Programs include full ship set avionics for OEMs, major retrofits and integrated product developments as well as system test rig development. Ensures continuity between products and programs. Is a key decision maker regarding how a particular technical solution is achieved. Supports Sales and Marketing activities including contributing to proposal and customer technical presentations. Certain applications require the need for on-site support and/or an Avionics Systems Integration role. Leverages advanced principles, theories and concepts of complex technical subjects to provide direction for employees and demonstrates broad Systems Engineering knowledge.



PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Has a group head responsibility for a group of engineers.

Ensures consistency with Rockwell Collins Consistent Engineering Processes (including Decision Point Processes)

Ensures compliance with Program/Product requirements as reflected in Design Plans

Provides Management direction and is responsible (directly or through subordinate managers) for project planning and control.

Participates in the budgetary planning process through identification of: staffing, facilities, capital, and support needs.

Provides skilled resources.

Responsible for management and performance of engineering resources to meet required deliverables.

Leads wide range of entry-level to highly experienced Engineers.

Demonstrates technical expertise in a product, technology, or other domain.

Provides operational support for complex technical subjects.

Supports/implements projects/initiatives.

Responsible for improving the organization's technical competence and advancing state-of-the-art developments.

Maintains awareness of technology and Company's competitive position.

Manages department costs to stay within approved levels (staffing, material, and operating budget)

Strives for 100% customer satisfaction

Creates an environment where no one tolerates complacency

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of specifically related experience including supervisory, management or project management.
