Sr. Engineer - Quality

OSRAM SYLVANIA is looking for an experienced quality engineer to oversee technical customer service and raw material and outsourced product supplier quality for the incandescent lighting operation in St. Marys, PA.
The successful candidate will:
•Develop, implement and manage the inspection activities for Outsource lighting products, including establishing a schedule for previously inspected products to obtain performance data over time. Analyze Outsource supplier production limitations and standards. Recommend revision of specifications when indicated.
•Develop, implement and maintain raw material supplier rating and compliance program to include supplier audits. May design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment at either supplier or other OSRAM SYLVANIA sites.
•Manage the process for defective or suspect raw materials to insure inventory integrity and timely resolution of returns/credits.
•Manage the process for suspect or defective product for Consumers, Industrial/Commercial customers and OEMs. Initiate and manage corrective actions such as recalls, product and raw material disposition, rework activities, 8Ds, and customer credits. Perform in-depth analysis on non-passive failures, coordinating as needed with R&D and manufacturing engineering to initiate preventive controls.
•Utilize statistical techniques to analyze data for trends and continuous improvement opportunities. Analyze Outsource product performance data and initiate corrective actions including product disposition decisions and supplier 8Ds.
•Act as a resource for suppliers and assist them in formulating sampling plans, quality control policies, systems and procedures.
•Monitor Feeder site inspection data, participate in internal audits, and manage other technical projects as required.

Job Requirements:
Position requires two to four years process or quality engineering experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment. Training and experience in ISO/QS auditing, PQI or 6 sigma, and/or Lean Manufacturing. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Travel to customer and supplier sites. Expertise with MicroSoft Office and MiniTab.
Successful candidate must possess a BS in Engineering (electrical, materials science or ceramic preferred) and 2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment; or MS Engineering
