Sr.Control Systems Engineer
Work directly with clients and project management teams to develop and define control system applications for rotating & reciprocating compression machinery. Provide detailed control system software design engineering on various Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) platforms. Provide systems support to internal/external clients, including end-user s, Original Equipment Manufacturer s (OEM), suppliers, control systems hardware design, manufacturing, and functional test groups. Provide resource development to the Control & Software Engineering group through mentoring/coaching activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree in electrical/electronic or mechanical engineering preferred or extensive industry experience may be acceptable. Minimum 8 years experience in the design and application of complex, PLC-based industrial control systems. Oil and gas Industry experience is preferred. Professional requiring minimal supervision who combines a strong work ethic, excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to Knowledgeable of basic philosophies associated with the instrumentation, protection, and operations of compression and/or power generation machinery. Familiarity with major
machinery subsystems, such as fuel control, compressor surge control and load sharing, and vibration monitoring. Experience with primary drivers, such as electric motors, steam & gas turbines, and reciprocating engines as well as driven equipment, such as centrifugal and reciprocating compressors and generators. Experience with general purpose and hazardous area application designs. Knowledgeable of worldwide industry standards and certifying bodies, such as IEC, ISO NFPA, NEMA, CSA, UL, etc.
Knowledgeable of simplex and redundant PLC CPU configurations. Familiarity with the design and configuration of various data communications networks, such as serial Modbus, ethernet TCP/IP, Allen-Bradley Data Hiway Plus (DH+), etc. Familiarity with various PLC & HMI software development applications and hardware platforms as follows:
Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and/or FlexLogix PLC platforms utilizing RSLogix 5000 programming software, rack-based and Flex Input/Output (I/O) systems. PanelView Plus HMI platforms utilizing RSView Studio/Plant design software.
General Electric Fanuc Series 90 PLC platforms utilizing Cimplicity programming software, rack-based and VersaMax I/O systems. QuickPanel View HMI platforms utilizing Cimplicity design software.
Siemens S7 PLC platforms utilizing Step7 programming
work well in a team-based project execution environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Participate in client requirements and design specification meetings
Development of machinery protection, operations and monitoring.

Insure compliance with industry standards and certifications.
Review and approval of control system hardware designs.
Knowledge of PLC logic development and testing.
Review and approval of PLC logic developed by others
Knowledge of HMI screen development and testing.
Review and approval of HMI applications developed by others
Control system documentation (Application Checklists, I/O List, Cause & Effect Charts, Operations & Maintenance Manuals)
Assist with system functional validation/verification.
Provide field service support, as required (primarily in-house)
Control system design interface and coordination.
Supplier interface and coordination.
Coaching/mentoring of team members.
Contribute to development engineering Best Practices.
Contribute to development of design templates and standardization efforts.
Contribute to organizational Continuous Process Innovation/Improvement (PI) efforts
Participate in cross-functional design teams associated with client projects and continuous PI initiatives
Meet critical project schedule and cost goals for pre-determined areas of responsibility.
