Sourcing Quality Engineer

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, Oil & GasFunction: SourcingResponsibilities: * Be the technical focal point for supplier activities directed toward process control and quality assurance of Power Systems Oil & Gas Components.
Establish a structured approach for quality assurance and drive consistency and adherence to quality procedures and requirements.
Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Manage supplier qualification activities for assigned commodities.
Drive continuous improvement of supplier's quality, cycle, and delivery performance through Six Sigma.
Monitor supplier non-conformance (SDR) performance and identify and drive process improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
Work closely with Sourcing COE's, business teams, Manufacturing, and Engineering to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may affect quality and delivery requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: *Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
3+ years of purchasing/manufacturing experience.Requirements:
Ability to travel internationally.
Ability to work in cross-functional team environment.Desired: * Related experience in machining of GE Energy components.
Six Sigma trained and certified (GE employees only).
Advanced Technical Degree.
Demonstrated technical aptitude: strong background in interpretation of blueprints/specifications, metrology, and manufacturing process planning/evaluation.
Demonstrated written & verbal communication skills.
