The primary duties of the Solid Waste Engineer/Planner include all aspects of managing the planning process for solid waste facilities and waste transfer/removal/management programs. More specific duties include: coordination with cities, counties, public resource agencies and private service providers to assure proposed plans are compliant with local, State (predominately California) and Federal regulations as related to waste collection, transfer and disposal. Duties also include planning, organization, and supervision of work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians.
