Software Technology Program Engineer

Business Unit: GE HealthcareFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: STP is a 3 year entry-level program committed to the development of people with a passion for software and IT in Healthcare and a drive for technical excellence through intense technical training and a variety of business-critical assignments that will also develop business skills and GE values. STP graduates have the technical foundation to seek opportunities to make innovative contributions to GE Healthcare.STP engineers experience different aspects of software engineering ranging from requirements analysis, design, development, quality assurance and customer support. They learn how GE approaches the design of products using Six Sigma methodology. STP engineers learn to work closely with different product segments in Healthcare IT and different engineering functions and achieve depth and understanding of the entire product development cycle. The core engineering skills and clinical domain knowledge gained in assignments are honed through advanced courses in software engineering and medical informatics. STP engineers are enrolled in a graduate program for masters in Computer Science or Medical Informatics and are required to graduate on time with strong academics credentials. GE pays their graduate program tuition and textbook expenses. Experience and training combined with mentoring and counseling from assignment managers, prepares members with the technical skills and values needed to achieve a successful career in technology.~HJ~
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: - 4-year bachelors degree with a major in Computer science or Computer Engineering
Demonstrated academic excellence, minimum GPA 3.5
Strong technical aptitude
Analytic approach to problem solving
Passion for Software Engineering and Information Technology
Strong commitment to graduate education and a career in Healthcare IT
