Position Description - We are seeking for a Localization Engineer to assist in coordinating and effecting the localization process for web-based IT Professional help files. Tests pre-release code and helps to debug the product. Provides technical assistance for other team members. Performs spot-check QA on externally localized pieces to ensure technical accuracy.
Drives the localization process for the content from English into another language. Ensures that the Localization Kit is fully functional and usable for localization. Works closely with testing to assess localizability and uncover localization bugs. Supervises that the process for ensuring bug fixes is appropriate. Facilitates communication of localization and tools strategy with related localization teams. Helps test localized content and helps resolve bugs. Engineer will also assist with other localization projects as time permits. Potentially may be asked to participate in one or more weekly conference calls outside of normal hours.

Qualifications:
3-4 plus years work related experience preferred. Localization experience required, with strong preference for experience specifically with Microsoft localization projects. Knowledge and experience with DocStudio, SourceDepot, Rainbow, or Trados is a plus. Fluency in the Japanese is preferred, including a familiarity with technical terms. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the ability to simultaneously handle task assignments from more than one project. Must be able to communicate effectively with both team members and subcontractors. Must have excellent problem solving and time management skills. Must be highly organized and detail oriented. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required. Some flexibility of hours is required in order to accommodate occasional conference calls to the East Asia region.
