Responsible for management of the SBIRS Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) common database (DB) group. The qualified candidate will have experience in managing a team whose task is identifying the data needs for a complex space vehicle and ground system, defining a process to manage and control the data, and projecting this need forward for critical program events. This individual will have application knowledge of relational data base development, support tool development, DB validation, and management techniques necessary to develop a high performance development and operations support function. This individual will lead the SBIRS DB group in defining DB requirements, SW implementation plans, qualification plans, producing the DB products and provide support services to the data providers and data users in executing their plans for the program. The candidate must demonstrate experience in leading groups with participants ranging from flight software, ground software development, space vehicle integration/test, system test and flight operations. This candidate should have intimate knowledge of SV command and telemetry as it relates to SV software development, ground software development and test/flight operations. Specific experience with SCS-21 TT&C system is desirable. Successfully demonstrated communication and leadership skills, change management, mission success and technical expertise. General Position Description:
Manages multidisciplinary research and collaboration with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for software. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the determination of computer user needs; advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
