Software Engineer lll

A Software Engineer III is needed for development of communications technologies for medical devices. The right candidate will be proactive, with great communication skills, demonstrate attention to detail, have a passion for technology, and an excitement to produce great products.
Areas of expertise needed for this position are Microsoft Windows platforms, data communication techniques, and network/interface communications. Must be familiar and comfortable in all phases of the development lifecycle. The position will require requirements analysis, software design & documentation, excellent implementation practices, interacting and coordinating with a lead engineer, and the ability to deliver on commitments within a team.
Responsibilities & Duties:
•Find creative solutions from broadly defined problems or directives.
•Requirements analysis and generation.
•Lead software design and implementation efforts.
•Create and unit test quality software personally and as part of a team.
•Cultivate and maintain knowledge of system hardware/software interaction.
•Foster good communication inside and outside the development team.
•Lead and mentor other software engineers.
•Ensure that all project tasks and deliverables conform to the appropriate processes and procedures for a highly regulated industry.
•Ensure the on-time delivery of project software deliverables.
•Hold technical reviews of project software deliverables.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
•Position requires a Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
•Minimum of five years of experience in software development.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills are needed.
•Ability to function effectively in a multi-discipline team environment.
•Demonstrated ability to independently accomplish assigned tasks and work with others is required, as is a good documentation discipline.
•Must be fluent in C/C++.
•Knowledge and experience in developing software for Microsoft Windows platforms.
•Knowledge and experience in network communications and stack processing for both wired and wireless networks to ensure availability and quality of service.
•Knowledge and experience in data communication standards and protocols (e.g. USB, Firewire, etc.)
•Experience in defining, implementing and using complex data structures and data prioritization.
•Good documentation and process discipline a must.
•Experience and knowledge of design patterns and/or installing & configuration of network routers is a plus.
•Experience in real-time application development and the development of medical devices is desired.
