Unovis is a group within Universal Instruments Corporation that provides specialized solutions in the areas of semiconductor assembly, odd form/final assembly and test automation, material handling and conveyors, semiconductor process development, and Hover Davis, Inc.'s direct feeder products. The group leverages platform-based products along with process and automation expertise to produce industry-leading advanced solutions.

Our growing high-tech company has an opening in Binghamton, New York for a Software Engineer. Responsibilities include:

Researches, designs, and develops computer software systems in conjunction with hardware product development.

1. Estimates, quotes, designs, and codes software modules and complex systems.
2. Handles non-routine product development, support issues and customer interaction.
3. Determines applicability and use of software tools, testing and debug methods, and determines forms, procedures, and other documentation needed for installation and maintenance of application software.
4. Develops large software applications and utilities.
5. Directs moderate scale Engineering projects.
6. Trains new employees and assigns and monitors their work.
7. Collaborates with Electrical, Mechanical Engineering and Q&R on product performance requirements, design, and test and development activities.
8. Directs large scale software projects.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience with the IBM Rational Suite of tools, specifically ClearCase and ClearQuest is desired. Experience with machine control and machine vision is desirable.

MS Computer Science, MSEE or equivalent combination of software development experience and relevant education (ex. BS and 5 years).

Current work authorization in the United States is required.
