Staff Software Engineer supporting the analysis, design, development, and test activities for the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) Communications Subsystem (MCS) Design Authority. The MCS Design Authority has the responsibility to develop a tactical network that provides voice and data communications for the MEADS components. The successful candidate will be supporting program and customer organizations in defining the intra-MEADS communications software architecture for BMC4I. Activities include the support or conduct of software trade studies for software component selection and providing technical expertise tactical defense communications systems. Candidates should have prior experience with military radio communications systems and tactical communications architectures. Some domestic as well as international travel may be required.

General Position Description:
Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for software. Determines computer user needs; advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
