Software Engineer - Junior

Open Text is recruiting for an outstanding Software Engineer for our Lincolnshire location!

Purpose of Position

A Software Engineer in Lincolinshire is member of the team responsible for the development, maintenance and enhancement of the core technologies used in the Livelink system. Any of a wide variety of skills may be used and learned as an individual works on the various parts of the system as a whole.
REQUIREMENTS
Primary Duties

1. Maintain and enhance the Livelink core application framework.

2. Add new features to the existing workflow, collaboration and document management areas of the Livelink product.

3. Participate in the debugging and resolution of problems found by customers running Livelink. A senior team member will take the lead on these types of issues.

4. Provide technical and analytical assistance to other team members.

5. Design and develop new modules and add-ons for the Livelink product.

6. As a senior team member, act as the technical lead on large-scale projects for the Livelink product.

7. Participate in the requirements and design approval phases of various Livelink-related projects.


Skills and Knowledge

· General knowledge of the Windows and Unix operating systems.

· 0 - 2 years experience developing object-oriented application systems.

· Working knowledge of technologies associated with developing web-based software products.

· Experience working in a high-level application development environment.

· Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle.

· Demonstrated ability to independently complete tasks with limited supervision.

· Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced work environment where creativity and self-motivation are key factors in an individual’s success.

· Knowledge of one or more of the following languages: C#, C++, Java, HTML, Javascript, ASP.NET

· Experience with OScript would be ideal.


Academic

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
