Software Engineer/Development/Senior

Business Unit: GE HealthcareFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: Support and enhance existing tools and processes necessary to meet Engineering, Quality Assurance, deployment, and control objectives
Oversee management and administration of hardware and software environment supporting Development Team of 120 in partnership with Corporate IT
Enhance Operational framework where daily builds and internal deliveries are expected across multiple distributed test environments
With Development engineers, QA engineers and Leadership develop, maintain, and communicate appropriate standards supporting a best-of-breed processes
Learn, train and mentor engineers within the department on Configuration Management principles and standards
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: BS or MS in Software Engineering or other engineering discipline
2-5 years experience in software development with industry-standard Configuration Management and Application Delivery Tools.
Knowledge of software version control tools, processes and Best Practices in distributed computing environments (Windows, AIX, OpenVMS)
Experience and interest administering shared servers in support of Development Teams, especially Cache servers
Experience with development, maintenance and implementation of software/hardware upgrades and migrations
Experience and facility with installing, configuring, learning, using, and explaining automated tools used within Development engineering environments
Understanding of code design principles and standards to ensure tools are flexible, adaptable and maintainable
Individual must be able to function in a demanding R&D environment.
Must be able to work with cross-functional teams.
Must be a team player with solid organizational, writing, and communication skills.
Must be able to work with internal customers to understand needs and translate into tools.Desired: Experience with McCabe CM, Visual SourceSafe, Visual Studio, SQL Server, Ant, InstallShield, Cache.
