Software Engineer/CS/Senior

Business Unit: GE HealthcareFunction: Information TechnologyResponsibilities: Essential functions of this programming position are providing technical support of GE's healthcare business applications through coding client-requested customizations as well as providing on-going problem support to a wide variety of hospital and physician-based organizations using GE Healthcare's Centricity Business Solutions software (formerly IDX Flowcast). This position will be required to contribute to revenue generation for the department by providing billable programming services as requested by our clients while meeting all timelines and milestones of the projects.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic qualifications for this position would be a proven record of previously learning programming languages and being successful with using them to solve financial problems in a business setting. This position must be able to effectively discuss technical problems with client representatives, both over phone and in writing, and also be able to explain technical resolutions in lay-terms to client representatives so excellent communication skills are required. This position is required to plan and organize their assigned work with minimum amount of supervision. The person must be able to lead telephone conference calls or in-person meetings with clients to discuss technical requests or provide updates on projects. It is important that this person has shown that they can create and maintain interpersonal relationships across departments at other companies.Desired: A 4 year college degree with at least 6 semesters of programming experience or work-equivalent . Previous programming experience with M, MUMPS or Cache programming language. A background with working with healthcare business systems. Experience working in a Managed Care healthcare environment . Previous experience with GE Healthcare Business Solutions (IDX Flowcast or IDX Xtend) software applications.
