JOB SUMMARY

Works closely with senior, lead or principal software engineer to design, develop and maintain software components and products that support H&R Block business applications. Uses tools, languages, coding standards and best practices to develop new product features and maintain year over year product functionality and enhancements. Creates and executes unit tests and addresses defects. Works closely with the QA, UX and other related teams to ensure consistent understanding of requirements and approach.
REQUIREMENTS


Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.
Two years experience in system analysis, design and programming experience.
Experience in client server and web environments, relational database technology, and development of interface software.
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated and effective time management, organizational, prioritization, and planning skills.
Demonstrated decision making, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to develop creative solutions to assigned projects.
Ability to work in a team environment with limited supervision.Preferred Qualifications

Two to five years experience developing and maintaining applications.
Technical knowledge of the current hardware, operating systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Ability to determine whether a particular problem is caused by hardware, operating systems software, application programs, or network failures.

Technical Skills

5+ years of proven PeopleSoft expertise with extensive HCM development and maintenance experience.
Strong functional knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM Applications especially Core HR, Benefits Administration, Human Resources and Payroll applications
Strong Oracle background with thorough SQL Knowledge
Proficient utilizing SQR, Application Designer and Application Engine.
Experience in the design and development of application solutions using PeopleTools , PS Integration Tools, PeopleCode, and Pl/SQL
Extensive experience with PS-Query and PeopleSoft reporting tools.
Proficiency in an UNIX environment and Shell Scripting (Korn)PeopleCode
