Role:
Come join a dynamic group in developing core back-end technologies for a leader in open-source, high-volume, and high-transaction web systems! As part of Ticketmaster Research & Development group, you will be responsible for integrating new functionality into our existing code base, with an emphasis on Perl/Mod-Perl development, as well as aiding in the architecture, design, and implementation of new core technologies. We're looking for bright, capable, Engineers to join the team.


Essential Functions:
• 65% - Coding/Development: Primarily Perl development in a Linux/UNIX environment, however, C/C++ skills highly valued.
• 20% - Design: Design and architecture of solutions and enhancements to the Ticketmaster.com code base.
• 10% - Troubleshooting: code review/debugging/troubleshooting
• 05% - Leadership Experience: Guiding/mentoring more junior members.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
• 4+ yrs professional software engineering experience
• "Classic" engineering skills, ideally C/C++,
• Object-oriented development, Perl, operating systems.
• Strong Linux or UNIX background
• Experience with web architectures
• General performance tuning
• C/C++ programming for the web (specifically apache 2.0, apache API, C module development)
• Strong proficiency with RDMS systems (Oracle and mySQL ideal)
• Experience mentoring/training junior members
• A strong background in algorithm/data structure design and implementation
• Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics
