Software Development Engineer, Senior

PTC is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer who enjoys a fast-paced environment and challenging projects to join the Windchill Rapid Response Team. The Rapid Response Team is a dedicated team of developers and quality assurance engineers that focus on delivering timely product feature enhancements. The Rapid Response Team follows an Agile Development process.Overview:
Designs, modifies, develops, and implements web applications using JAVA and HTML. Typically requires 5-8+ years of experience developing software applications. Has a working knowledge of a variety of technical concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Consults with other engineering staff and product marketing to evaluate requirements for proposed features. Continually works in new product areas, so must take initiative to consult with other teams for learning and reviews. May structure, task, direct and review the technical work of others. Has the ability to make good judgment calls. A degree of creativity and latitude is expected.Responsibilities Include:

Web Application Development

Schedule, conduct and participate in design reviews.

Prepare design note(s) per group standards for product features.

Prepare work estimates for assigned tasks.

Technical lead on small projects.

Completes all work according to schedule requirements.

Provide ongoing feedback on deliverables.

Write well documented & high performing code including source code documentation that meets organizational standards.

Solicit code reviews for work and participate in code reviews of others' work.

Create and run unit tests. Deliver automated tests to QA for inclusion in a regression test bed when appropriate. Test on multiple configurations.

Acquire knowledge necessary to perform job assignments (technology, product and process).

Provide timely and complete information and document reviews to the publications group.

Provide timely and complete information to the QA group to facilitate formal testing.

Share technical information with the team and to a wider audience when appropriate.Technical Skills Required:
Java Programming and Object Oriented Design Required, JSP and JavaScript Required, UML (Rational Rose experience a plus) HTML, XML, SQL database queries (Oracle experience a plus), Web application infrastructure, Web server (Apache experience a plus), Servlet Engine (Tomcat experience a plus), LDAP Directory Server, Operating System proficiency Microsoft Windows, Unix, Source Code Configuration Management (Clearcase experience a plus), Integrated Development Environment experience a plus (e.g. Netbeans)Business Skills Required:
Excellent Written and Oral Communication skills, Flexibility, Independent, Self-Motivated, Team Player, Consensus building, Familiarly with agile software development methodologiesEducational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field plus 5-8+ years of experience
