Software Development Engineer - Low Level Drivers

Department Description: Our department develops real time embedded software for leading edge handheld communications devices. These devices are primarily targeted for the highly competitive consumer telecommunications market. Our work is leading edge and our environment is fast paced. Specifically, our development engineers design and write software that interfaces with the physical layer of the device (hardware, integrated circuits, connectivity, device drivers, etc).

Responsibilities/Expectations: Responsible for developing driver SW for next generation 2way communications devices. Capable of setting up and utilizing debugging equipment and working closely with hardware to analyze and resolve timing problems, resets, connectivity problems, etc. - follow SW development process including requirements, design, coding, and testing. - participate in process improvement activities.^^

Knowledge Skills: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Enthusiastic and solutions oriented - Experience with microprocessors and writing SW for embedded systems - Experience with "C" code - Knowledgeable in JAVA
