Software Development Engineer II (C/C++)

Purpose: This medical device company is a leading global provider of patient monitoring systems. Their systems support time-saving, informed decision-making for care teams in critical care, emergency, and perioperative areas.

Developed in partnership with caregivers, the company's systems focus on making the most efficient use of valuable staff time and on improving standards of patient care. Integrated solutions include wired and wireless networks, clinical information connectivity, ambulatory blood pressure (ABP) monitors, and medical data services.

This position will focus on the development of production software to support the release of new products. This position is needed to develop and unit test production software for release of new products. The company is in growth mode and is looking to expand its product line. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in technical reviews to ensure product quality.

Find creative solutions to moderately defined problems or directives.

Estimate time & effort on projects & tasks.

Participate in and/or lead design efforts.

Create and test quality software personally and as part of a team.

Create software for testing & product release. Unit test & debug production software.

Demonstrate good documentation discipline.

Demonstrate ownership & responsibility in accomplishing assigned tasks with/ moderate supervision.

"MUST HAVE" SKILLS:

MUST be fluent in C/C++ (design, development, implementation).

MINIMUM of 3 years software development.

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and/or VxWorks.

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must for this position.

Demonstrated ability to deliver quality software.

Demonstrated ability to independently accomplish assigned tasks and work with others is required, as is a good documentation and process discipline.

BONUS SKILLS:

Experience developing multi-threaded applications.

Knowledge of using Win32 API.
