If you enjoy working in a dynamic and challenging environment then read on!This position is for the world's largest software company, headquartered in Redmond, Washington.Position Description -This candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of advanced mathematical programming (and combinatorial optimization) systems within our project.Qualifications -The candidate must possess a minimum of 6+ years of industrial software development and testing experience - and a BS in Computer Science. Due the highly mathematical and algorithm-intensive nature of this project - the candidate must have experience with at least one (but preferably two or more) of the following areas as a SDE: 1. Operations Research Techniques and Algorithms 2. Numerical and Symbolic Algebra Systems (REDUCE, MACSYMA, MATLAB, MAPLE, Mathematica, AXIOM, ALDOR) 3. Functional Programming and/or Term Rewriting Systems (e.g. Mathematica, Q, MAUDE, OCAML, Haskell, Standard ML, etc.) 4. Linear and Nonlinear Programming Systems (AMPL, OPL, GAMS, LINDO, LINGO, CPLEX, LAPAC, etc.) 5. Numerical and Scientific Computing Libraries and Data Structures (Sparse Matrices, etc.) The candidate must be conversant with at least one C-family language - ideally either C# or C++. Java knowledge would be acceptable. Industrial experience of at least 4 years with usage of the language for complex software systems testing is a requirement. The SDE must be familiar with standard unit testing frameworks (Junit, etc.), build verification test suite construction, some automated build automation technology integration and configuration - and be willing to function as a part-time build manager for the project. Experience with formal semantics and model checking/verification would be considered a plus.
